“Chef” Curry cooked up a mysterious basketball mix after slicing and dicing the Boston Celtics and laying them into the pot to simmer as Game 6 of the NBA Finals turned into a celebration of another championship.
Like that mix, the Chef Curry and his sous chefs teammates rose to the occasion.
Steph “Chef” Curry led the Golden State Warriors to a 103 to 90 win over the Celtics at TD Garden in Boston Thursday night.
Curry received his fourth ring by shutting down the Celtics in Game 6. Curry also won the Finals MVP Award for the first time in the team’s four championships.
After being down early, Boston had an explosive comeback in the 3rd Quarter stopping Warrior players Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. It didn’t help that Thompson started laying bricks, missing shot after shot. The score grew close but not close enough to close the early gap to give the Celtics an opportunity to force a Game 7.
The early lead the Warriors established was too much for the Celtics and their fans. For nearly two and a half hours, the crowd bore their hearts out every second with great intensity. Yet, the Warriors showed exceptional teamwork in their two explosive quarters which gave them a 21-point lead heading into the 3rd Quarter, in which the team often displays its dominance. Instead, Chef Curry’s lead was like a dangerous souffle, soft and temperamental, and this night, hard to beat. At least, hard for Boston to beat. Curry ended the game with 34 points.
At the end of the game, Curry cried before he held the NBA trophy, before being named MVP and before ending the meal with before opening up the celebratory champagne.
