Marian Catholic is celebrating Catholic Schools Week, which recently began on January 25 and will conclude with a Friday basketball game.
This celebration has been an annual tradition for Marian Catholic dating back to 1974. This week is not only important for Marian but for other schools that involve Catholic Education as well. Other schools honor religious traditions each day throughout the week and learn about the origins of Catholicism in schools. More activities for Catholic School Week at Marian Catholic include:
- Scavenger Hunt for Jesus: Also known as “Got Jesus,” this is an activity for high school students to engage in finding a figure of Jesus around the school to exchange for a raffle ticket to receive a prize.
- Special Dominican Preacher Excerpts: During Marian’s All-School mass, Dominican Preachers share their message with students in relation to Catholic education’s origins and Marian’s mission for its students.
- Celebration and Gratitude for Alumni, Faculty, Staff, and Dominican Sisters: This is a general act that many Catholic schools take. They thank those who build and make up the school.
Marian’s Spirit School Assembly is ready to launch this Friday, January 30 with prayers, school spirit, lots of music, and some sports fun. This week expect to see Dominican Sisters sharing their stories and figures of Jesus scattered through the hall.
