Marian Catholic Women’s Basketball experienced a victorious night in their win against Chicago Butler Prep, 22-19, capturing the IHSA 3A Regional title on Friday, February 20, 2026. This came on the heels of their previous win against Morgan Park (49-22).
The game was close and unpredictable for both teams, showcasing strong defensive efforts from both sides. At halftime the score was 17-12, with Marian trailing by five. Despite scoring just eight second-half points, Marian ultimately proved victorious. The victory against Butler High School marks eaned the Spartans a regional title, which stands as a major accomplishment.
Nyila Williams went for eight points and four rebounds, leading the Sparatn charge. Ty Jackson added in four rebounds and four blocks of her own, along with seven crucial points from the foul line. Vesta Radziuete acquired six rebounds and Jordyn Hodges chipped in five points with three assists. Kaili Merrick and Alexandria Spraggins made key contributions as key playmakers. Marian Catholic Women’s Basketball was able to control the tempo in crunch time and come away with the victory. They will move on to compete at Hillcrest Section semifinal today against the host Hawks at 7:30 pm.
