On Friday, May 1, Marian Catholic Students celebrated College Decision Day, where many students displayed pride in their soon to be college homes. From university hoodies to alumni gear, students and faculty displayed their college spirit to celebrate the day. Along with this day focused on college commitments, faculty and administration hosted a senior honors ceremony, offering a variety of awards and recognitions to students who displayed academic excellence and demonstrated the pillars of Dominican life and spirituality.
The ceremony kicked off with prayer and an opening speech from Dr. Zampillo.
Dr. Zampillo expressed gratitude towards parents, guardians, and students, and added on… “Our school community is a better place as a result of who you are as young people and all the contributions that you have made.”
Mr. O’ Brien, director of college counseling, followed after the opening speech to present the first award⸺the Dominican Veritas Award, previously known as the Christian Service Award. This award honors students who exhibit the Dominican pillars of life through prayer, academics, preaching, and community.
