Students shares stories, poetry during Open Mic Night

Marian Catholic students stood at the dais to celebrate self-expression April 21 as part of an “Open Mic Night” at school.

Keeping with the theme “When One Door Closes…” students, teachers and family members stepped into a cozy corner of the old convent to share stories, speeches and other forms of vocalizations.

The idea behind the event was to create an open and welcoming space for young writers to speak. Some student participants included Allison Melvin, who served as the event’s MC or Master of Ceremonies, Melvin Davies, Jr, Coralie Humbert, Abby Urban, Kennedey Walton, Tommy Walsh and Indigo Woods.

English teachers Ms. Zerante and Mrs. Rousseau served as the event’s organizers and faculty advisors.
