For seniors it is a stressful time. It’s the last year of high school, and plenty of us are ready to venture on. All should be good! It should just be the countdown until graduation, but for most of us college applications aren’t just clicking a bunch of buttons and paying a fee. It’s more like writing a hundred small essays that must fit your entire life into them as well as catching up on research papers, homework, tests, sports, jobs, etc.
The year everyone says is the easiest, actually starts off difficult. No time to stop, no time to sleep seniors especially those applying early action are off to a long start. Now we know that it will calm down eventually. Research paper and Applications should be done by the first semester. Especially since, at least to me time is moving pretty fast. First quarter is already over,
It’s already October. It may just be all these tasks that make time go by so fast, but hey –with how fast time is going it’ll be winter break and we’ll see the fruits of our labor if we apply early action.
As of now, applications are going fine. From everyone I’ve spoken to, the general feeling has been the same. Balancing both our applications and school life takes a lot of energy. Especially making sure that every element is perfect and that you didn’t input anything wrong in the common app. Not to mention things out of our control, like, waiting for teachers to turn in their recommendation letters.
I’ve been able to turn in all of my applications, and everyone is at that point or getting closer to being done. Now the focus can move to scholarships, FAFSA, and school work. We may know the application process doesn’t just end when the applications are in. Mid-year and final transcripts are important so there’s no time to slack off and relax in senior year. Good luck to everyone in getting into the school they want and also receiving good financial aid!
