Beyond the Ghostly Veil
October 6, 2021
The warmth has faded away
And the ghosts have come to play
The dying of the year has begun
And the specters have come for their fun
A frightening feat makes fiends flee
Faking fears for falling trees
The breath of life has become stale
As the wonders of the night truly unveil
Lurking in the ocean of people
Lies a beast, dormant and gleeful
Fore the moon rises and bleeds
Trying to feed this monster’s needs
It dwells among the crowd
Wearing a bloodied shroud
It calls out in a whisper
For its fun is the listener
When a floorboard creaks
And groans sound bleak
The beast comes near
You learn the name,
fear
