At Marian Catholic’s first all-school Mass of the year, it was a turning back to tradition and a new beginning for more than 20 Spartan students.

The liturgy on Sept. 9 returned to the high school’s temporal roots of beginning in the morning. This tradition was broken over the past two years due to the pandemic when the temporary time meant afternoon Mass. But no more.

Still, during the Mass that as Ms. Hanson, the school’s new Vice President of Mission and Ministry, called together and dismissed the student body, it was the welcoming of more than 20 seniors to the altar that marked a new beginning.

Marian Catholic inducted over 20 seniors as Eucharistic ministers to be recognized by the school and the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Seniors trained and mandated to present the Sacrament of the Eucharist at Marian and in their parishes, include:

Paul Arquilla

After their ceremony, the seniors lived out their new mandate for the first of several times throughout the academic year.

The next scheduled all-school liturgy is scheduled for November 1.
